He is sensitive to movement, so all I had to do was wave my hand over my head...

the light box is a microwave box with two windows cut in the sides covered with easel paper, and more easel paper as a backdrop. I bounced the flash off paper in the top of the box. I only had one halogen worklight to work with, so that was shining through one of the paper windows. It should look better once I have two.

yes, whenever I find an interesting dead or otherwise bug I always put it in there to take macro pictures.

buuuuugs! i was over at my friend's flat the other day and there was a beetle flying around that had snuck inside somehow... i was amused that neither of the guys were willing to so much as find out what it was, much less catch it to put it outside. it was only a beetle, sheesh
